The index of the most liquid stocks, Belex15, jumped 2.6 percent last week

The index of the most liquid stocks on the Belgrade Stock Exchange, Belex15, increased by 2.6 percent last week, the highest since May 2023, as announced today by the brokerage firm Momentum Securities.

The total turnover in the shortened trading week due to holidays amounted to 204.1 million dinars or 1.7 million euros.

The benchmark market index, Belex15, was driven by the continued upward trend of Messer Tehnogas shares, whose price jumped almost 20 percent, as investors continued to buy the security based on speculation about possible ownership consolidation.

At the end of the week, Tehnogas shares were valued at 21,871 dinars, marking the highest value of these shares since 2007. The price of these shares has risen by 38 percent since the beginning of the year, reaching 80 percent of its book value and a market capitalization of 22.7 billion dinars or 193.5 million euros, after a long time.

The price of Dunav Osiguranje shares has fallen below the 900 dinar level after a considerable period, with a turnover of 7.2 million dinars. Since the beginning of the year, the price of these shares has experienced a nearly five percent decline, following a 12 percent weakening last year.

Among the stocks with the highest turnover was Metalac’s shares, with a turnover of 6.2 million dinars at an unchanged price of 1,550 dinars.

The price of Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) shares has dropped to the psychological threshold of 800 dinars, with a turnover of six million dinars.

Jedinstvo from Sevojno saw a turnover of 5.8 million dinars, mostly at a price of 7,010 dinars. The company reported fairly good results in the fourth quarter and the business year 2023. The non-consolidated net profit increased by 31 percent last year to 312.7 million dinars, while in the fourth quarter alone, the company recorded a profit of 126.7 million dinars.
